President Trump boasted about his mobility while addressing supporters on Thursday, declaring that he could “go ramp” or “go stair.”

The 80-year-old president, who has often compared his physical prowess to that of his predecessors, made the unusually-phrased comments while speaking at a manufacturing plant in Denton, Texas.

The speech took place just weeks ahead of the midterm elections, with Trump rallying support for Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton at the event.

“Some day I’m gonna trip. I’ll be walking down...” he said. “Don’t forget, when Biden left the stage - he spoke very shortly, like two minutes, one minute, as quickly as possible - he could never find the stairs. I don’t have that problem.”

The president’s latest snipe at his predecessor was met with some applause from the crowd.

Glancing around the stage, Trump went on to ask: “You know these things? Do you know how many stairs they have?”

“Look, I can go ramp, I can go stair, I can go another stair. Another stair in the back. I have a stair,” Trump declared, pointing to each before returning to Biden once more. “He could never find the stair.”

Trump went on to tout his record while speaking at the Peterbilt Motors Company plant, bragging about his administration’s achievements in manufacturing.

“And heavy truck shipments have hit an all-time high, the highest in the history of our country under the Trump administration,” he said. “So American trucking is back.”

Trump’s boast that he could “do ramp” comes over six years after his descent appeared slow and unsteady as he walked down a ramp at a West Point military academy back in 2020. The moment quickly went viral, sparking much speculation about why he moved down the ramp so slowly.

“The ramp I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery,” he later explained on X. “The last thing I was going to do is 'fall' for the Fake News to have fun with.”

Trump added, “Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”

Meanwhile, stairs have long played into Trump’s speeches, appearances and interviews.

Speaking on The Dan Bongino Show in February this year, Trump explained his slow pace when boarding or disembarking an aircraft.

“I gotta be very careful going in,” he explained. “Ever noticed how slowly I am these days? Nice and slowly, I’m not looking to set any records.”

“You don’t wanna go down. Could happen, could happen,” Trump said.

The president even paid a rare compliment to one of his rivals while discussing stairs in Quantico, Virginia, last year.

“Don’t bop down the stairs,” Trump cautioned. “The one thing with Obama, I had zero respect for him as president. But he would bop down those stairs I’ve never seen.”

Singing gently and miming a walking motion, Trump continued: “Da-da, da-da, da-da, bop, bop, bop.”

“He’d go down the stairs, wouldn't hold on, I said it’s great,” he added. “I don’t want to do it; I guess I could do it.”
